Switzerland qualified for the final group stage in Manchester after winning the Davis Cup 4 times in a row.
The group draw was very difficult. With England, Australia and France we had 3 Grand Slam teams as opponents.
In the big AO Arena in Manchester, our team met their masters.
The three matches were lost with 0:3 / 1:3 / 0:3.
Dominic was allowed to play 2 singles (against A. Mannarino ATP 34 and T. Kokkinakis ATP 74). He played great matches against both of them. Unfortunately he lost both matches close. But he could gain a lot of experience for the future. Dominic also played 2 doubles matches. (1 x with Stan Wawrinka and 1 x with Mäc Hüsler). Both times they had to play against Grand Slam doubles winners and there they quickly saw that ATP Top 10 players who only play doubles have the necessary consistency and game overview.
Dominic and Team Switzerland played in Manchester in a super ambience and in front of a great atmosphere. In addition, Dominic comes back with valuable experience, which he gained during the matches, in his backpack. The young Team Switzerland is on the best way to cause one or the other surprise in the next years.
