What a turn of the year and what an experience. Stan Wawrinka, Belinda Bencic, Mäc Hüsler, Jil Teichmann, Alex Ritschard, Ylena In-Albon, Yoanne Züger and Dominic were allowed to participate in the United Cup.
In Brisbane, Switzerland played the first group match against Kazakhstan. In the second group match they had to play Poland. There played with I. Swiatek the No. 1 of the ladies and with H. Hurkacz the No. 9 of the men. Unfortunately, the match was lost 2:3. This meant the elimination from the tournament.
But what colle days these were with the Swiss Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) team and the Davis Cup team. All together could train with each other and exchange ideas. Also the joint New Year’s Eve was very successful and simply fun.
The start into 2023 was successful in any case.
