Dominic received the special prize at the Canton of Berne’s sportswomen’s and sportsmen’s award ceremony. The legendary SRF sports presenter Bernhard Schär gave the laudatory speech about Dominic’s super achievements in 2020/2021 and presented Dominic with the trophy. Dominic is thus the successor of Christian Stucki (Schwingen) who received this prize in 2019.
In the beautiful town hall in Bern, the 7 winners of the Canton of Bern’s sportsman elections were honoured by the cantonal government. In addition, all athletes who stood on the podium at World Championships, European Championships as well as at Olympic Games and Paralympics in various sports between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2021 were also honoured. More than 60 medal winners received the honour in person in the Grand Council Chamber of Bern City Hall. In addition, the government council also invited the 14 Bernese athletes who had participated in the Olympic Games and the Paralympics in Tokyo.
