Dominic wins the ATP Challenger Tournament in Lugano

In the finals, Dominic once again delivered a convincing performance. Dominic was never under pressure against Ukrainian Vitaliy Sachko (ATP 389). Dominic showed his best performance this week from the defensive and once again served very solidly, being able to put his opponent under real pressure.

Dominic won with an ace to 6:4 / 6:2 and realised the almost unbelievable.

Winner in Lugano. On average, over 1’600 people watched this victory live.

In the semifinals against the N1. Yuichi Sugita ATP 109, the fast Japanese would be a very tough nut to crack. After losing the first set 5:7, Dominic managed to break in the second, setting the score at 6:4. Unfortunately, he quickly conceded a break in the third and was trailing 0:2. But he soon managed a rebreak. The score was 4:4 on his own service and 15:40 (2 break points) and that was so decisive. Right after the break, at 5:4, the match was over after 2 hours and 10 minutes. Dominic hit an incredible 21 aces.

On Friday, an even tougher opponent was waiting. Dominic played in the 1/4 final against Daniel Masur ATP 213, who won the ATP Challenger tournament in Biella last week.

Dominic did not let himself be put off by this and played constantly and with a lot of heart and soul. Dominic finished the match with an ace (after having to fend off a break point) 6:2/6:4.

After Dominic had won the first round in the main draw against Jay Clarke ATP 203, the match continued on Wednesday against Tim Van Rijthoven ATP 333. For almost 2.5 hours, the two players gave each other nothing. In the end, the braver player would persist. Dominic won, after 2 match points, ultra close in the tiebreak of the 3rd set. This match, as well as all the others, were and will be broadcast live on Challenger TV. Over 1300 people watched this mega sensation.
