Switzerland with Kym, Hüsler, Stricker and Bertola
The Swiss team will be led by the in-form Jérôme Kym (ATP 180) against Peru. The 21-year-old from Fricktal has won two tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour in recent months and has made significant progress in the world rankings. While Kym was still ranked 485th at the beginning of the year, next week he will already be among the top 160 tennis players in the world in the ranking relevant for the Davis Cup tie. Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 168) brings a lot of Davis Cup experience to the team. The 29-year-old from Zurich has been called up by captain Severin Lüthi for the eleventh time. Hüsler also recently proved his ability when he won an ATP Challenger tournament in Poland in August. Back then, he met his compatriot Dominic Stricker (ATP 169), who was also nominated for the match against Peru, in the quarter-finals. The 22-year-old from Bern is gathering match practice after his six-month injury break and wants to gradually regain his old strength. At the ATP 250 tournament in Winston-Salem (USA) in August, he defeated a player in the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time this year. The Swiss line-up is completed by Remy Bertola (ATP 273). The 25-year-old from Ticino is currently ranked higher than ever before and was already part of the Securitas Swiss Davis Cup team in February of this year, when Switzerland narrowly lost to the Netherlands.
